CALLED MEETING OF THE ALLEGHANY COUNTY SCHOOL BOARD
The Alleghany County School Board held a called meeting on April 27, 2016, at 6:30 p.m. at the Central Office Complex in Low Moor, Virginia.
PRESENT: William W. Angle; Amber D. Kerns; R. Craig Lane; Norman L. Persinger, Jr.; Randall S. Tucker, Chairman; and Jacob L. Wright
Also present: Eugene P. Kotulka, Superintendent; and Lorie C. Bess, Clerk
ABSENT: Benjamin J. Truett
Chairman Tucker presided and called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. The call to order was followed by a moment of silence and the recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance.
(16-296) APPROVAL OF FIRE ALARM UPGRADE AT ALLEGHANY HIGH SCHOOL
Mike Isbell, Supervisor of Maintenance and Transportation explained the existing fire alarm system at Alleghany High School is outdated and needs upgrading. One bid was received by the specified deadline. The bid provided by Main Street of Virginia, Inc., dba Templeton Vest, was recommended at a total cost of $60,850.
MOTION: That the Board approve Templeton Vest for the fire alarm upgrade at Alleghany High School, as presented.
MOTION: Mr. Wright

ROLL CALL VOTE: Unanimous
(16-297) UPDATE ON EMPLOYEE CONTRACTS
Mr. Kotulka gave an update on when contracts would be sent out and that a cover letter would be included explaining that contracts are contingent upon confirmed funding from the Board of Supervisors.
