AHS Students Recognized by School Board

 

The Alleghany County School Board held its regular monthly meeting at Jackson River Technical Center on Monday, February 17, 2014. During the meeting, four Alleghany High School students were recognized by the School Board for scoring 600 on a spring 2013 SOL test. In addition, Board members were recognized during School Board Appreciation Month for their dedication to the Alleghany County School division.

Madison Ferris, left, received a certificate from School Board Chairman Ben Truett for scoring a perfect 600 on the  earth science SOL test in 2013.  Also receiving recognition, but not present, were Caleb Brown for earth science, Jonathan Church for writing, and Alyson Turkewitz for writing.
