School Board Recognizes Students and Fellow Members

The Alleghany County School Board held its regular monthly meeting at Callaghan Elementary School on Monday, October 17, 2011. During the meeting, School Board members recognized those Callaghan Elementary School students who scored 600 on an SOL test during the Spring 2011 testing period, an AHS student for his selection to the Virginia Honor Choir, and three Board members for their participation on the Virginia School Boards Association. Dr. Campbell was also recognized by the Board with an Award of Distinction.

Fifth graders (left to right) Falyn Crowder, Elias Linsin, Tia McDaniel, Xavier Storey, and Ethan Thompson were also recognized for scoring 600 on an SOL test during the Spring 2011 testing period.

Also recognized by the School Board for scoring 600 on an SOL test during the Spring 2011 testing period were third grade students (left to right) Triston Hensley, Jacob Clarke, Emily Bartley, James Ruff, and Tavi Wright.
