Students Commended by School Board

 

    The Alleghany County School Board held its regular monthly meeting at Mountain View Elementary School on Monday, April 2, 2012.  During the meeting, School Board members were entertained by the Mountain View Glee Club, who sang the Mountain View school song.  The Board also recognized several groups of students for their academic and extra-curricula achievements.

MVE Glee Club
The Mountain View Glee Club sang the MVE school song during the School Board meeting Monday night.
 






Art
The School Board recognized the Virginia School Boards Association Student Art Contest winners from each school at their meeting Monday night. Pictured from left: Cristi Miller, Art teacher; students David Kahle (MVE),

Choir
All Virginia choir members Brittney Crowder and Zach Nicely received certificates of recognition for their achievement.



MVE_SOL1

Forensics
The AHS Forensics team received certificates of recognition for their 2011 Blue Ridge District Championship. In the back row from left to right are Andrew Gibson, Derek Ratliff, Caitlyn Caldwell, and Halley Pendleton.



Band
