Student Achievements Recognized by School Board

 

The Alleghany County School Board held its regular monthly meeting at Clifton Middle School on Monday, May 21, 2012. During the meeting, the School Board recognized nine Alleghany High School students who were selected to represent AHS at summer conferences and two students for their first place finish in the Virginia DECA Stock Market Competition.

Troy Barbour, School Board Vice-Chairman, presented a certificate of recognition to Kassie Hall for her selection to the Virginia Girls' State summer conference. Also selected to attend were Lacy Shifflett and Jordan Spraker.


Eric Barbour, center, and George Taylor, right, were awarded certificates of recognition by Vice-Chairman Troy Barbour for their selection to the Virginia Boys' State summer conference. Also selected was Austin Cole.



Courtney Glover was recognized for her selection to the Hugh O'Brian Youth Leadership Seminar, Eric Barbour and Shane Clarke for their selection to the Summer Residential Governor's School, and Daniel McCormick and Brandon Rice for their first place finish in the Virginia DECA Stock Market Competition.
